The Authentication Unit – Communications & Partnerships Department at the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau in Canada

The Authentication Unit at the Department of Communications and Partnerships plays a key role in providing authentication services to both Saudis and non-Saudis in Canada. The main services include:

  • Assisting Saudi sponsored students with the authentication of their Saudi issued academic credentials to ensure recognition and acceptance at Canadian institutions.
  • Providing authentication services for Saudi nationals and non-Saudis seeking employment or study opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Verifying Canadian degrees issued by Canadian academic institutions for equivalency purposes at the Saudi Ministry of Education.


Authentication Procedures for Non-Saudis

Applicants seeking authentication for employment purposes must submit the following:

  1. Authentication Request Form – completed and signed
    • Make sure to provide the correct phone number, email, and mailing address to ensure accurate communication.
  2. Consent Form – completed and signed
    • Must be typed and signed by hand matching your signature on record at your institution.
  3. Copy of the passport (Bio page).
  4. Degree certificate – (original or notarized copies) and apostilled by a designated Apostille Service in Canada. (Degrees issued outside Canada will not be authenticated).
    • Note: Degrees previously legalized by Global Affairs Canada before Canada joined the Hague Apostille Convention remain acceptable.
  5. Employment contract – Attested by the Saudi Chamber of Commerce.
  6. Official transcripts – sent directly from your Canadian institution to the Bureau via:
    • Email: arad-ca@ca.moe.gov.sa, or
    • MyCreds® / Parchment shared with our email, or
    • Sealed envelope mailed directly to the Bureau.
  7. On-campus confirmation letter – an official letter from your Canadian institution confirming that the program in question was completed in person (not online).
    • Must be sent directly by the institution via email, MyCreds®, or sealed envelope.
  8. Recent criminal record check (issued within the last 6 months).
  9. Pre-paid, self-addressed return envelope – including a valid tracking/waybill number.

Applicants requesting authentication for study purposes must submit the following:

  1. Authentication Request Form – completed and signed
    • Make sure to provide the correct phone number, email, and mailing address to ensure accurate communication.
  2. Consent Form – completed and signed
    • Must be typed and signed by hand matching your signature on record at your institution.
  3. Copy of the passport (Bio page).
  4. Valid acceptance letter from a recognized Saudi university.
  5. Degree certificate – (original or notarized copies) and apostilled by a designated Apostille Service.
    • Note: Degrees previously legalized by Global Affairs Canada before Canada joined the Hague Apostille Convention remain acceptable.
  6. Official transcripts – sent directly from your Canadian institution to the Bureau via:
    • Email: arad-ca@ca.moe.gov.sa, or
    • MyCreds® / Parchment shared with our email, or
    • Sealed envelope mailed directly to the Bureau.
  7. Recent criminal record check (issued within the last 6 months).
  8. Pre-paid, self-addressed return envelope – including a valid tracking/waybill number.

Applicants seeking authentication of school report cards or a high school diploma must provide:

  1. Authentication Request Form – completed and signed
    • Make sure to provide the correct phone number, email, and mailing address to ensure accurate communication.
  2. Copy of the passport bio page.
  3. Copy of the Saudi residency permit (Iqama) or an authenticated employment contract.
  4. Original report cards (signed by school) or sent directly from the school to arad-ca@ca.moe.gov.sa.
  5. Pre-paid, self-addressed return envelope. including a valid tracking/waybill number.

  • Notifications will be sent when documents are ready for pick-up.
  • After notification, arrange pickup with your chosen courier (Purolator, Canada Post, FedEx, UPS) from the front security gate of the Saudi Cultural Bureau in Canada.
  • Your pre-paid envelope must include a valid tracking/waybill number so your courier can collect without delay.

  • 10–15 business days from the date all required documents are received.
  • The Saudi Cultural Bureau does not provide delivery or courier services. The applicant or the hired agent is fully responsible for arranging pickups and/or contacting couriers services for delivery.
  • Incomplete applications: Any application lacking required documents or forms will not be processed and will be returned immediately.

  • Double-check requirements before sending to avoid delays.
  • Use MyCreds® / Parchment when possible, for secure, faster document delivery.
  • Ensure all signatures on forms match your academic records.
  • Always include a pre-paid courier envelope with tracking number.

  • It is essential to follow the steps outlined above to avoid any delays or potential rejection of your request.
  • Ensure that all required documents are included and complete before submission to prevent any delays or the return of your application.
  • Sending and receiving of documents is the sole responsibility of the client. The Saudi Bureau assumes no liability for any loss, damage, or delay.
  • To ensure excellent service and to avoid any confusion or repeated communication, please note that we will only communicate with the agent appointed to complete the authentication procedures on your behalf, or directly with the client in case no agent has been appointed.
  • Certificates issued outside Canada do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Saudi Cultural Bureau in Canada and will not be authenticated. Please contact the Saudi Cultural Bureau/Mission in the country where the certificate was issued.
  • Use the MyCreds® / Parchment platform whenever possible to ensure secure and fast delivery of your documents.
  • Make sure your signature on the consent form matches the signature on your academic records.
  • Ensure that you include a prepaid return envelope with a tracking number (if applicable) to expedite the return of your documents.
